DHL Parcel Has Its Dwarf in Wrocław

Warsaw, April 23, 2020

Wrocław is a city filled with friendly dwarfs. A new friend has just joined them: Deliverius, the diligent courier. The consignment delivery dwarf can be spotted in the premises of the DHL Parcel terminal in Wrocław, at ul. Bierutowska 75.

First dwarfs started to appear on the streets of Wrocław in 2005. Initially, they mainly resided in the vicinity of the Market Square, but in the course of time, they started to inhabit private properties and company premises all over the city. On 16 April, DHL Parcel acquired its own dwarf: the energetic Deliverius found his home in the premises of the DHL Parcel Wrocław terminal at ul. Bierutowska 75. It welcomes visitors near the entrance to the Customer Service Point.

"This is a lovely tradition. I guess that everybody associates dwarfs with Wrocław today. The idea of making a DHL dwarf came up during the last year's visit of Jerzy Staszelis, Deputy Director for Finance and member of the Management Board of DHL Parcel Polska, in Wrocław. It is said that dwarfs bring good luck, so everybody fancied the idea of having our own dwarf. We are hoping that it will bring good luck both to the Wrocław terminal and the rest of the company," says Madgalena Bugajło, PR & Communications Director at DHL Parcel.

The courier dwarf is a dwarf registered on the official municipal website: Odlewnia Artystyczna from Wrocław handled the design and the execution of the figurine.

Deliverius – this energetic dwarf is known to all residents in Wrocław. He traverses the city on a daily basis in his yellow van and delivers consignments. He is usually rushed, but due to being very gregarious, he will always find some time to chat to nice people. If you get lost, do not hesitate to ask him the way, because he knows all the addresses in Wrocław very well. If you are lucky, he will lead you to your destination, telling you unbelievable stories along the way. Apparently, he delivered wood for the construction of the Ostrów Tumski castle. There are also rumours that he personally brought the Racławice Panorama to Wrocław, as well as the cupola to the Centennial Hall. Make sure to ask him about that. The courier dwarf is very pleased when people visit him, and he willingly poses for photos with children, offering them cheerful, yellow balloons.
